The ASGS values its members and provides numerous educational, networking and volunteer opportunities for them.
>Regular Educational Opportunities
- Regular meetings which feature programs designed by genealogists for genealogists.
- Members-only workshops.
- Reduced registration fees for special events.
>Subscription to Copper Filings
- Copper Filings is not circulated or distributed to outside agencies or persons; only ASGS members and select affiliated groups receive copies.
- Provides members timely information on ASGS activities and articles about genealogy and local history.
- Articles are written by our membership. We actively encourage our members to provide articles for publication.
>Reduced subscription rate to Forum
- Because the ASGS is a member of the Federation of Genealogical Societies our members get a reduced subscription rate to their publication Forum.
>Surname Database
- Only members can submit surnames they are researching to the surname database.
- Only members have access to the database and its contents.
>Member Forums
- AzSGS Member Forums provide an online members-only discussion area for sharing genealogical information, asking questions and keeping up to date on activities.
>Email List
- AZSTATEGENSOC-L provides an online members-only mailing list for distributing information to all list subscribers.
>Links to Members’ Personal Websites
- ASGS will place links to its members’ genealogy-related personal homepages on our Links page.
>Special Interest Groups (SIGs) & General Genealogy Help Sessions
- Special Interest Groups provide members with an opportunity to meet and work with other members who share an interest in a specific area of genealogy.
Membership Types
One year memberships run from July 1st to June 30th.
Individual Membership
$22 per year
For the first year of membership if you join between January 1 and June 30, pay only $11.00, then $22.00 for the subsequent full year starting July 1.
Family Membership — two persons at the same address
$33 per year
Half year is only $16.50 for those who join between January 1 and June 30.
